VOTE THE COAST ENDORSES RICHARD HOLOBER FOR ASSEMBLYPRESS RELEASE
(Burlingame, CA) Vote the Coast, a leading environmental organization that works to protect the coastal region, has endorsed Richard Holober in the 19th Assembly District. "We evaluated the records and positions of each candidate. Richard Holober is the candidate we trust to protect California's coast from pollution and over-development. Vote the Coast urges all voters who care about the environment to vote for Democrat Richard Holober on Tuesday, June 3rd," stated Sara Wan, Executive Director of Vote the Coast. "California's coastline is a precious environmental inheritance that is threatened by pollution and over-development. I am committed to preserving this environmental crown jewel, and its marine life and native plant and animal populations," Holober stated. "As our next Assembly member I will make sure that we preserve our coastal zone and its open space for future generations to enjoy. I will work on solutions that reduce global warming emissions - even if the big oil companies object. And I will continue to insist that polluters pay for clean up costs." Vote the Coast's endorsement, along with the endorsements of the Sierra Club, US Senator Barbara Boxer (Chair of Senate Environment Committee) and local environmental leaders underscores that Richard Holober is the candidate with the record of taking on the polluters and implementing pioneering solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and environmental degradation. Last month, Holober accepted the 2008 Sustainable San Mateo County Award on behalf of the San Mateo County Community College District, which he serves as Board President. The Community College District leads all government agencies in the county in adopting "green building" policies that reduce greenhouse gases and carbon emissions at College of San Mateo, Skyline College and CaƱada College. The College District has reduced energy consumption by 56%, which saves taxpayers a million dollars a year.
