CALIFORNIA TEACHERS ASSOCIATION ENDORSES RICHARD HOLOBER FOR ASSEMBLYPRESS RELEASE
RICHARD HOLOBER FOR ASSEMBLY State's largest teacher organization, representing thousands in San Mateo County, endorses Democrat Holober - who earns a clean sweep among teachers (Burlingame, CA) The California Teachers Association - more than 340,000 members strong - announced that it has endorsed Democrat Richard Holober for State Assembly in the 19th District. Holober is the President of the San Mateo County Community College Board. He served on the Millbrae School Board prior to being elected to the San Mateo County Community College Board in 1997. "We need proven education leaders like Richard Holober in the State Assembly now more than ever," said Carole Delgado, President of the San Mateo Elementary Teachers Association, and a classroom teacher at Audubon Elementary School in Foster City. "Holober has committed his career to quality public education. He has always balanced school budgets responsibly, and we know that as an Assembly member he will do the same," Delgado continued. "Democrat Richard Holober is the most qualified and experienced candidate, and he stands up for excellence in education," said Craig Childress, President of the San Mateo Union High School District Teachers Association, and a classroom teacher at Hillsdale High School. "I'm proud to be the education candidate for Assembly, supported by the California Teachers Association," Holober responded. "I will fight against any attempt to balance the budget on the backs of our students. California is already a dismal 46th out of 50 states in adjusted per-pupil spending. That's unacceptable. It not only limits the dreams of California's students, it will damage our economy." "The fight for excellent public schools goes beyond the budget fight," Holober continued. "It's also about classroom innovation and supporting teachers in the quest to make California's schools golden again." The California Teachers Association represents public school teachers, counselors, librarians and other certificated staff in the following local school districts located in the 19th Assembly District: San Mateo Union High School District Millbrae School District San Mateo-Foster City School District Cabrillo Unified School District South San Francisco Unified School District Pacifica School District Belmont-Redwood Shores School District Sequoia Union High School District Burlingame School District Brisbane School District Hillsborough City School District San Bruno Park School District La Honda-Pescadero Unified School District San Mateo County Office of Education Holober was previously endorsed by the California Federation of Teachers. Between the CFT and the CTA, Holober is endorsed by organizations representing every public school teacher and community college instructor in the 19th Assembly District.
