UNIVERSITY AND COLLEGE FACULTY ASSOCIATIONS ENDORSE RICHARD HOLOBER FOR ASSEMBLY

California Faculty Association and FACCC - representing tens of thousands of California State University and Community College faculty endorse Democrat Holober - who earns a clean sweep among educators

(Burlingame, CA) The California Faculty Association (CFA) representing 25,000 professors and other educators at 23 California State University campuses and the Faculty Association of California Community Colleges (FACCC), a professional association with 9,400 faculty members at community colleges throughout California have each announced endorsements of Democrat Richard Holober for State Assembly in the 19th District.

The CFA and the FACCC join a growing chorus of organizations representing educators who have endorsed Holober as the education candidate. Holober was endorsed earlier by the California Teachers Association and the California Federation of Teachers.

Richard Holober is the President of the San Mateo County Community College Board. He served as an elected member of the Millbrae School Board prior to being elected to the San Mateo County Community College Board in 1997.

"Richard Holober understands our higher education system," said Jonathan Lightman, Executive Director of the Faculty Association of California Community Colleges. "Richard's decade of experience as a Community College Trustee in San Mateo County will make a huge difference for our public institutions of higher education. With term limits, it is essential that we elect education leaders like Richard Holober to strengthen our public colleges and universities."

"I'm proud to be the supported by state university and community college faculty," Holober responded. "I will fight against any state budget that attempts to balance the budget on the backs of our public colleges and universities," Holober continued. "We need a well funded vibrant system of higher public education to provide opportunities for Californians to improve their standard of living, to pursue professional and career goals, to remain competitive in the global workforce, and to become better educated members of our community."

The California Faculty Association represents faculty, librarians and lecturers at 23 California State University campuses

The Faculty Association of California Community Colleges is a professional association of faculty at 109 community colleges across California.
