Final ResultsFinal results for May 3, 2011 election for San Mateo County Supervisor, District 1: Dave Pine 23,856 I am proud of the race we ran. With no backing from the County's political establishment, and outspent two to one, I finished 1.8% short of victory. I wish the winner of this hard-fought election my best in his new assignment. My campaign raised issues that struck a response chord with voters, and that should not be brushed aside now that the election is over. San Mateo County is a wonderful place to live. Today, County government and many Peninsula residents are struggling through the hardest of times. Our County is made better by the kind of vigorous democratic contest that has now concluded. I am tremendously grateful to the seven hundred endorsers, donors and volunteers who made my campaign possible, and to the more than 20,000 voters who supported me. I plan to continue my civic engagement in our County. I urge you to stay involved or to become more involved in working for a better community. |
