CA Federation of Teachers Endorses Holober for SupervisorI am pleased to announce that the California Federation of Teachers has endorsed my candidacy for San Mateo County Supervisor. I am thrilled to have the support of classroom teachers and college faculty who work so hard to create a brighter future for our state. CFT President Marty Hittelman stated: "The California Federation of Teachers supports Richard Holober - the education candidate - for County Supervisor. Richard is a leader who provides outstanding education and job training programs at College of San Mateo, Cañada College and Skyline College to tens of thousands of Peninsula residents each year." "When the State cut education funding by 20 percent, Richard Holober insisted that San Mateo community colleges carefully examine their priorities. He kept the cuts away from vital classroom and job training programs. As a result, the College District balanced its budget, avoided layoffs and now serves more students than it did when the funding cuts began. San Mateo County residents will benefit from Richard Holober's proven record over 17 years in elected office, balancing complex budgets and strengthening services with fewer funds." I have won four countywide elections and I have balanced budgets totaling billions of dollars. My 13 years in elected countywide office serving our entire County - from Daly City to Pescadero, from Brisbane to Menlo Park and East Palo Alto, and everywhere in between - makes me uniquely qualified to ensure that we maintain vital County services while trimming expenditures during these difficult economic times. |
